How to Care for Quartz Countertops: Cleaning, Maintenance and Repair

Everyday care for quartz is simple: a soft cloth, warm water and a mild dish soap handle most of it. Unlike granite and marble, engineered quartz does not need to be sealed.

Quartz is not indestructible, though. Harsh chemicals can dull the surface, high heat from pans can mark the resin that binds the stone, and a hard knock on an edge or corner can chip it. Natural stones such as onyx and marble are softer and more porous, so they need gentler cleaners and regular sealing.
