Quartz Countertop Warranties: What Each Brand Covers
A quartz countertop warranty comes from the company that made the slab, not from the shop that cuts and installs it. The four brands homeowners ask us about most are Cambria, Silestone, Caesarstone and MSI Q, and their terms run from 25 years to a lifetime, with very different rules on transfers, registration and rentals.
This guide lays out what each manufacturer's current warranty documents say, in plain language, so you can compare them before you pick a color. One point up front: Griffin Quartz does not add a warranty of its own to these terms. Every warranty described here is the manufacturer's, and the manufacturer decides what it covers. How a Quartz Countertop Warranty Works
Every quartz warranty we have read covers the same basic thing: manufacturing defects in the material. If a slab fails because of how it was made, the manufacturer repairs or replaces it, or in some cases refunds it, at its own discretion.
What the warranties do not cover is just as consistent. Damage from heat, impact, chemicals and outdoor exposure is excluded, and so is the quality of the fabrication and installation. Cambria's warranty says it plainly: fabrication or installation issues "must be resolved directly with the point of purchase, fabricator, or installer." That is why the written contract with your fabricator matters as much as the brand's warranty.
Most brands also attach conditions: register within a deadline, use an approved fabricator, pay in full and follow the brand's care guide. Miss one and the coverage can shrink or disappear.

These terms come from each manufacturer's warranty documents as published in September 2026. Brands revise them, so read the current version for your exact product before you order.
Cambria Warranty: Transferable Full Lifetime
Cambria provides a transferable Full Lifetime Warranty for products purchased and installed in the United States or Canada after September 1, 2018. It starts at installation and lasts for the life of the product until it is removed, replaced or altered, and it passes automatically to later owners of the home.
The conditions worth knowing:
- Approved installers: coverage applies when Cambria is fabricated and installed by Cambria-approved fabricators and installers, and product sold by unauthorized resellers is not covered.
- Indoor use only: residential, commercial and marine interiors are covered. Outdoor installs, even partly covered ones, are not.
- Saltwater: product installed in areas exposed to saltwater is listed as an unintended use.
- Claims: Cambria must receive a claim within 30 days after you learn of the problem.

Silestone Warranty: 25 Years With Registration
Cosentino warrants Silestone against manufacturing defects for 25 years for residential use, counted from the date of purchase. The warranty is transferable, and Cosentino's residential terms cover both single-family and multi-family homes.
Registration is the step people miss. The warranty is only fully valid when you register the project on cosentino.com within 6 months of purchase and can produce the original invoice showing the purchase date and the dealer's name. Commercial projects fall under separate, shorter terms.

Caesarstone Warranty: Lifetime for the Original Owner
Caesarstone's Residential Lifetime Warranty covers material that fails because of a manufacturing defect, provided a Caesarstone Certified Fabricator fabricated and installed it. It is available to the original owner of a single-family residence, and you must register within 30 days of installation to activate it.
Transfers are limited. If the original owner registered and notifies Caesarstone in writing, the new owner receives a prorated 10-year limited warranty counted from the original installation date. The residential warranty excludes rental properties, commercial use, outdoor installs, flooring, scratches, and chips or impact damage.
Commercial installs, which Caesarstone defines to include rental and leased properties, fall under a separate Commercial Lifetime Warranty that covers the product only. Its Outdoor Collection has its own 10-year residential limited warranty. Compare colors on our Caesarstone page.
MSI Quartz Warranty: Limited Lifetime Residential
MSI backs Q with a Residential Lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects when an authorized Q fabricator fabricates and installs it in a private single-family residence. It is limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable. You must register within 30 days of installation and request service within 30 days of a failure.
The MSI quartz warranty excludes homes where the owner does not live, rental properties and other commercial use, outdoor installs, heat damage and thermal shock, chips from impact, scratches and seam performance. Rentals and businesses fall under MSI's separate 10-year commercial warranty, which is not transferable and does not apply to honed finishes. What Quartz Warranties Don't Cover
Read side by side, the four documents exclude the same everyday risks:
- Heat: hot pans, slow cookers and griddles left on the surface. Every brand tells you to use a trivet or hot pad.
- Impact: chips at the edges and cracks from dropped or banged objects.
- Outdoor use: standard indoor quartz used outside, including covered patios and summer kitchens. Only products sold for outdoor use, such as Caesarstone's Outdoor Collection, carry outdoor terms.
- Fabrication and installation: seams, support, cutouts and anything the shop did. That is between you and your fabricator.

Quartz Warranties in South Florida Homes
A few exclusions matter more here than in most of the country.
Rentals and seasonal homes
Many owners in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Miami rent out a condo for part of the year. Caesarstone and MSI both treat rental property as commercial use, which moves you from the residential warranty to the commercial one. If you plan to rent, ask which terms apply before you order. Condos

How to Register Your Quartz Countertop Warranty
- Before you order, download the current warranty for your exact brand and product line.
- Ask your fabricator whether they are approved or certified by that brand, if the warranty requires it.
- Keep the paperwork: the paid-in-full invoice with the purchase date, the dealer's name, the fabricator's name and the color name.
- Register on time: within 30 days of installation for Caesarstone and MSI, and within 6 months of purchase for Silestone.
- Report problems fast: Cambria, Caesarstone and MSI all set a 30-day window for claims.
